Military doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction adopted by the Soviet Union and the United States of America at the height of the Cold War was one and is still the lowest point in human existence. It loses meaning when humans are all willing to die to protect whatever they think is worth protecting at the expense of life. The reasoning beyond this military doctrine was indeed in contrast with what humanity stands for.I reckon a day in which this doctrine would have turned into reality and ask myself who would have stood a chance to gain?

Do you think it was worth it for these two superpower states to adopt Mutually Assured Destruction doctrine, a truly mad adoption?
