SCRATCH is an easy and simple programming environment, primarily intended for beginners and children, developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten group, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT media laboratory, and aims to develop creativity and innovation in children and adults without specialization.

Scratch allows its users to create their own games and interactive stories through a simple, free and open source programming language, that uses graphical objects instead of the complex codes that are commonly used in other programming languages, and this language is more like the game when we compare it to a programming language.

Scratch enables its users to include images, sounds, video and other media, giving them an opportunity to embody their ideas in the form of animations, interactive stories, or even musical and artistic games, and other technical creations.

To achieve this, SCRATCH relies on the program's input objects, which can be text, images, or graphics that can be programmed by entering code sections, or so-called "blocks", and these objects can be controlled through a keyboard or mouse, Or after a period of time has passed.
