Should couples share the same religious beliefs?

    It really depends on the couple. If religion shapes a huge part of who you are and how you live your life then you should definitely consider bringing this up to your partner. If religion does not matter and the couple is fine with having those differences, then it might not be necessary for them to align in terms of religion. This is one of these things where you have to say " to each his own" and let people be.

    Religious belief is a strong doctrine that determines the unity of people. Many people have been kept together by sharing a common religious belief. If husband and wife have differences in their belief, their children will also be divided which will be an awkward thing. According to me, the belief of the wife should be dependent on the belief of the husband. Once the wife is married to the husband, she should abandon her home-based belief and join that of her husband. If not so, with an agreement, the husband can change to that of her wife and have one belief as a family.

    The best religious predictor of being happy in a relationship is praying together as a couple. Joint prayer enables couples to focus on shared needs, rather than individual concern. Also they can sustain relationships through dark periods and the faith lives of their children.
