We live during the generation of people, who wait for new episodes of their favorite TV series, like people waited for newspaper in 20th or 19th century.

While it’s true, that watching series for an year or two is time consuming, but definitely worth it (as long as it’s good), however, the whole problem is, that in fact many TV series are written of a book and over the extend of time they stop adjusting to that book, and it goes downhill.

Imagine watching a really good TV show for several years, only to find out that last season is poorly done. For me, it’s The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Both started out greatly, and went downhill lately. I even stopped watching TWD.

What TV adaptations do you know, which didn’t go downhill and kept true to the book?

A film can't include all that is in the book, because of time and budget. So if a person wishes to know a certain story, it's better to read it.
