Why do we fall?

For a species so intellectually accomplished, we tend to fail an awful lot. Why do we struggle to soar like eagles when crawling like snakes on our bellies would be a lot easier? What makes you or me crave success so much? Have you ever wondered why we always strive to be the best that we can be? Perhaps we are defined not by our triumphs, but for our perseverance in the face of our constant failures. Are the fruits of glory truly worth the toils of failure?
