    Simple. You either don't have the time, expertise or patience to do so. And being on the go means more to you.
    It makes sense to go in for a setup that has superior build quality, high price and premium materials AND a powerful configuration to boot.
    Thus, the Alienware.

    If you're a media/design enthusiast. If you aren't capable of building your own machine part by part, Alienware does it for you. I really like my M14x. I did have a random screen issue, but I actually had a great customer service experience. The sent a new screen to a local Dell authorized repairman and he came to my office to fix it. The customer service agent emailed me via a personal email and checked in to see that it went well (and actually appeared to care).
