Betelgeuse is a giant star that is 642 light-years away from Earth and was, until October last year, one of the brightest stars in the sky. Betelgeuse began to drop in intensity, which led astronomers to believe it was about to explode - become a supernova.

The appearance of the supernova on the sky, assuming it would happen in 2020, would actually be a "photograph" of an event that took place in 1378. How wonderful is the world we live in! Are passionate about astronomy?
