Even though statistics show that 1 in 3 people suffer from mental illness, there is still quite a stigma against talking about mental health or getting mental health care. Often people refer to therapy or psychiatric drugs in a negative light and tend to think of mental illnesses as a lack of spiritual or emotional strength.

Most people are recommended to get check-ups once or twice a year at the doctor or dentist's offices, just to make sure that everything is still well. I think that regular "mental health" check-ups could also be beneficial to the general public as well. Even if someone doesn't have anything wrong with them, yearly check-ups would normalize getting help if something is wrong.

What is your opinion on this topic?

People should have a comprehensive medical checkup once a year,if not twice.Prevention is better than cure.It is only after these checkups that efforts will be made to fix any problem diagnosed. Without proper and regular medical checkups, what was initially a small problem advances with time and becomes a terrible condition.
