KEEP UP THE PRESS

In moments of emptiness and hopelessness

When all is dry and clouded with distress

Extremely limited is the assurance of success

I say to my soul “Keep up the press”


Depression dominates the day

Frustration paves the way

Good old memories I wanna replay

But the thought of the present takes its place


Sometimes my soul is drowned in regret

Cuz I couldn’t uphold my resolutions

All the goals I’ve emphatically set

Entirely thwarted by carnal desperations


If you find yourself in this situation, don’t give up

Take a moment of deep reflection and sit up

My friend, don’t give up the struggle

But with your inner strength, double the hustle.
