There are many components of our lives that give us identity. We are identified by what we do every day and how we think. Some scholars claim that our behaviours are in our minds as men and women and they guide our way of life. Other scholars claim that the environment we live in defines us and our way of life. I think we should consider all components, biology, culture and the education we later acquire to judge how people go about their lives.

What's your take on this ?

It is a bit of both, nature and nurture, according to most theorists and practitioners after the 20th century. Personality, bio-psych, and neuro-phys theorists weight hard-wired biology more heavily. Developmentalists weight the environment more. It is bi-directional. Nurture, the environment, is known to shape biological development, and biological predisposition is known to affect the way we interact with the environment and can shape it as well.
