I really wonder why not any other color. Could anyone please elaborate. And is it true that the sky is different for everyone, for some it seems closer to the earth's surface than how other people see it.

I'm not sure about the sky seeming closer to the earth's surface to some people. I have never actually heard that. I don't think there would be any real way to ever find out the truth about that though, because we can't see through one another's eyes.

As for the sky being blue and not another color. From what I have learned, the sky being blue has to do with molecules in the earth's atmosphere and the way colors scatter and travel. It is actually really scientific and boring. When my kids asked me this question, I told them it was because of the reflection of the ocean on the sky.
