Applications of Computers

Computers are electronic devices that accept user input, process raw facts(data) to generate information with speed and accuracy. Computers have greatly assisted humans in very many ways.
Education: In the present era, students can attend to their classes remotely by use of computers, in what is referred to as e-;learning. There is no need of physical transfer of knowledge. Also, students can alo do their research online by the help of the internet. Many foreign students take their classes in other states by using this method.
Banks: Computers are used in banks to store customer information, monitor the progress of the bank businesses and for security purposes. Presently, we have seen the automatic teller machines, whereby a customer can interact with a computer so as to withdraw his money and check the bank balances.
Aviation: Computers are used to control planes in the sky. A pilot can easily switch the plane to 'auto pilot' allowing the plane to move on its own, without human control.
Supermarkets: Computers are used in the supermarkets to control stock, maintain inventories, track sales. The point of sale terminal (POST) can scan the bar codes of products and determine their prices.
