For me, buying your own brand new car would be really great! It is one of the best ever gift that you can reward yourself after working hard for years. But as for now, I'll prefer purchasing a second-hand or slightly used car because I still don't have enough funds to acquire a new one. As long as the car is working and the engine is in good running condition, it's fine with me.

Used car. Slightly used car. For a very little used car, the price can go down 30% - 40% down. It happens that people need urgent money, that moves to another state ( I write examples in my country) they got a car, but they do not need 2 or 3 of them. There are various situations where you can get a very cheap 'used' car and in fact - new!! ( Ok, not brand new but - new!)
Of course, you have to inquire and wait for the right moment (It means that you have the money) :D

I agree wholeheartedly! Getting a new car is an awesome feeling if you can afford it. Since it's brand new, you don't have to worry about what other people have done to it or in it, and you can choose the perfect color and setup for your wants.

However, my current reality is that I don't have nearly enough income to be able to afford a new car. So instead, my partner and I are saving up for a used one. He's hoping for a truck, although I want a car -- I'm on the short side, and I don't want to have to launch myself into his jacked-up pickup!

Honestly, though, any kind of vehicle would be nice at this point. Even a clunker beats walking everywhere, especially in summer heat! I just hope our future car has air conditioning.

What is the point of buying a new car when you can buy a used car that is only a couple of years old. Nobody else will even know the difference if you purchased it new or used. You can save thousands of dollars by buying used. If you have that kind of money and want to buy new, then by all means buy new. But, in my experience, when I bought my used car it was basically new. The car was just sitting on a lot waiting to be bought, with little miles and a very nice body. Plus, your car insurance should be a little cheaper if you go the used car route.
