My thought on this topic is that philosophy is all about thinking. You use your imagination to get a better understanding on life as a whole, so many great and wise minds use philosophy on a daily basis. So many things make up philosophy such as love, hate, hunger and satisfaction but it doesn't stop there. I believe philosophy is one of the top 3 most important elements in life because without it, there would be no encouragement to succeed, no hope on anything difficult and just a lost of drive because no one would be driven to push to a limit outside of their comfort zone. The question that's states, "What is the purpose of Philosphy," is the same as asking "What is the purpose of life?"

 

Philosophy is the search for wisdom. The philosophy was the queen of science until the 19th century, however, with the application of the scientific method could no longer be considered a science.
Nevertheless, the philosophy continues to engage in valid issues and there is a part of philosophy in all the sciences, called epistemology. Epistemology is dedicated to reflect on the concepts and definitions of each of the sciences.

 

Philosophy the vehicle in which we study the world around us. It is that idea of bringing everything into question. Science is a similar vehicle, and science and philosophy were once considered the same, but I think that philosophy allows itself to more subjectivity then science does. Philosophy allows us to put everything under the microscope through our own lens and lets nothing escape its grasp of questioning.

 

Philosophy teaches us to think for ourselves and never take anything at face value. Socrates said he knew nothing and that is the best way to go. Questioning is about challenging and finding out, not proving you know more than others think they know.
